The IP Consulting Manager has ultimate responsibility for the customer relationship, supervising multiple consulting teams to deliver creative and innovative solutions for clients. The successful Manager will cultivate and maintain consultative, partnering relationships with clients, driving increased revenue from existing customers while actively pursuing new opportunities from prospects or other segments of the client base. In addition to a leadership role, the Manager will also serve as a team member on project engagements, acting as a mentor and providing expertise as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain expertise with Morae products and services.
- Function as subject matter expert in patent and trademark processes.
- Manage multiple simultaneous engagements, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Identify project resource requirements and ensure appropriate staffing levels across all projects.
- Participate in the design, development, testing and delivery of solutions as required.
- Develop client relationships, maximizing growth and revenue opportunity.
- Ensure the use of standardized methodologies across projects.
- Generate timely forecasts and summaries of account status and revenue.
- Coordinate internal team communication, activities and staff development
- Participate in the creation and delivery of proposals, RFP’s and other client facing communications and presentations.
- Participate in pre-sales activities, including onsite demos and proof of concept projects.
- Develop and maintain IP expertise related to manner of practice, market conditions and customer needs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Proven analytical and quantitative skills
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
- Ability to be creative and innovative, proactively identifying opportunities
- Ability to work on complex problems, demonstrating good judgment in the selection of solutions.
- Demonstrated organizational and project management skills
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to articulate vision internally and externally
- Demonstrated ability to effectively handle and prioritize multiple, complex projects simultaneously, adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced service-driven environment
- Ability to interact with various levels within the organization including senior leadership.
- Significant domestic and international travel required (30% or more)
- Five or more years of consulting experience required, experience in the legal industry preferred
- Three or more years of Intellectual Property experience required
- Three or more years of management experience
- Five or more years experience implementing software applications and solutions
- Bachelors degree required, advanced degree preferred
